"Ken is such an important part of our school community. Students look forward to his frequent postcards and love looking at the Trucker Buddy bulletin board at our school to see where he has most recently been and what funny joke he's going to make next. He explains how important math, reading and writing are to his job...which ALL the teachers are grateful for! He is positive, caring and makes our school a better place.” says second grade
teachers at Prince Charles Public
School in Belleville, Ontario
Canada. Jennifer Black and Nicole LaSage.
Ken Armstrong, a
Swift driver consistently goes
above and beyond. Whether
it's
staying a bit later so each
child gets a chance to speak with
him or putting extra detail
into the notes
he sends. He is always
putting CB students first!
"This year, when Ken found out about our primary playground
equipment being removed, he suggested applying for a grant
from Swift Transportation and helped with the application.
The students are so excited when he visits the classroom giving
them a glimpse of the truck and they often have questions ready
for him months in advance. Ken always takes the time to hear every
question and makes kids feel special.
In looking at the commitment,
dedication and attention to detail Ken puts forth at our school, we
can only imagine the excellence he must bring to the job on a daily
basis. Kenneth B. Armstrong is the BEST Trucker Buddy any
school could have. He deserves the honor of "Trucker Buddy
Driver
of the Month."
Janet Richards, Chair of the Prince Charles School Council:
”The Trucker Buddy program is one that has a lasting impact
on our students from both an educational and fun perspective.
Ken
Armstrong was the Trucker Buddy for my daughter's forth
grade
class five years ago, and she still remembers Ken and his
visits. Ken's relationship with the school is a valuable one and we
are grateful for all his hard work with the classroom and playground
equipment too.”
