Grose, a long time Trucker Buddy and Board Member has sucumb to cancer on
February 12, 2010 at 7 am. David loved to be a Trucker Buddy and had several
classes before retiring as an owner operator in 2008. He became one of the
original TBI Ambassadors which is an experienced Trucker Buddy who helps
the program by working trade shows, serving on an advisory panel and promoting
the program in many ways.
David Lee Grose was born December 21, 1945 in Springfield,
Missouri and was adopted by Abram and Bessie Grose.
He was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After serving
in the Navy, David began his career as a long-haul truck
driver. His career spanned 43 years and over 4.5 million
accident-free miles. This career also provided David with
the opportunity to meet many people and a platform for
sharing his faith in Jesus Christ.
for Christ was matched only by his generous
spirit. He had a special place in his heart for missions,
cherishing his opportunity to visit Mexico and wanting to help
others make trips of their own. Closer to home, David was a
Trucker Buddy, adopting an elementary school class, helping
“his kids” learn geography and making reading fun for them.
David never met a stranger;
never met someone who wasn’t
worth both his time and (quite a few) kind words. David always
had a song in his heart and was always eager to share that song with those
David is survived by his wife, Sybil; four children, JaTawn, Dustin, Tiffany,
and Devin; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded
in death by his parents, Abram and Bessie.
