Outstanding Teachers Sponsored by:

K.C. Brau, a driver for Crete Carriers has nominated his teacher as an outstanding teacher and explains why he thinks she is a good example of a great teacher.

“Mrs. Caroline Walradt, a second grade at Princeton Academy of the
Sacred Heart in Princeton, NJ, has been a Trucker Buddy teacher
and advocate for since 1999, utilizing the program in second and
.third grade course study.

Her influence and success with the students has been visible to this
driver in the improvement of language and writing skills in the letters
and notes received from the class.  Faithfully sending material written
and made by the students, she has also served to keep this driver's
enjoyment and satisfaction level with program participation high.

Mrs. Walradt has utilized state tourist information sent by me in class
assignments, particularly creative thinking and writing abilities. Taking
the item of their choice, students were encouraged to develop a story
around it. Maps provided by a program sponsor are used to help with
learning state names, features, and shapes while following the
journeys of their Trucker Buddy driver.

In a radio interview (blog radio, Courtney Wilson Show), Mrs. Walradt
proved herself to be an interesting and articulate spokesperson for our program.  I feel she has proved she is truly more than an "Outstanding Teacher".”

"I have been very fortunate to have had KC as a Trucker Buddy pen pal for almost 8 years now. My students look forward to his post cards and letters and have learned a great deal about trucks, geography and staying safe! He becomes a good friend and they miss him when they leave second grade.

I am grateful for the TBI program which provides an authentic means for me to teach my students about the United States, letter writing, and the value truckers provide to each and every one of us," stated Mrs. Walradt.
